We have enjoyed challenging hikes in the Montreal region, and this was our first time hiking Sutton. We were looking for a challenge and got it. We arrived at about 11:30 - it was not easy to find parking, we had to park quite up the road, so be warned, arriving earlier is a good idea. However, that was not the end of the world, just a bit of extra walking. Right now, with covid-19 precautions in effect, we paid through our cell phone from their website. We did purchase a map at the information chalet, which was very handy. We were intent of having a hike that tested our mettle, so we followed the red trails. It has been a long time since I have done that much uphill hiking, and in the heat of the summer (it was about 25 degrees, the trees shielded us from the sun, not much breeze, and when you are doing a lot of uphills, you generate more heat and you feel like you are in a sauna.) If you intend to do the red trails, you should have a decent level of fitness, bring plenty of water, and mind your shoes (my waterproof Sauconys were handy because it rained the day before). There was one main look out that we stopped at (Sommet des Hollandais) and the area of the waterfall was nice (Chute des Nymphes). In total, we walked approximately 10 kilometres, but ruggedness of the trails and the altitudes needs to be taken into consideration when judging how much time it will take. It was a Saturday during a popular vacation time in Quebec, yet we encountered very few people doing the red trails. More people were on the easier "blue" trails. We finished around 5:30pm. A very satisfying hike.

A new vineyard for us to try this year and we were so happy. The staff are very friendly, the wine tasting is fun with service so informative and not rushing the service. There is so much space to pinic ,we chose along the little lake with fish jumping and we watched a parade of their livestock, which the kids really enjoyed. Yes..they have meat also and all raised at this location . The boutique is very nice with extremely fast service and you can pick vacumed pack meat and of course we left with a few bottles of wine, definately this winery is on our list each year.

What a charming shop - items produced by local artisans include jewelry, amusing children's wear, pottery, knitted items, paintings - and more. Terrific that over 30 local folks were able to form a collective like this. A fun place to browse - and the woman behind the counter the day we visited was so helpful and knowledgeable.

This is a worthwhile stop just for admiring the gallery space, which is a former church and still bears some of the original stained glass windows.

Went there on our second day in Sutton and really enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of parking with an overflow parking as well. There is a small shack where you can wax your skies and a larger chalet where coffee, hot chocolate and some granola bars are available for purchase. There are a few tables and even a fireplace.
Entry fees (daily) are as follows:
    Adults: $ 14
    Seniors: $ 13 (55 & up)
    Children: $ 9 (6-17)
    Students: $ 10 (9-25)
    Rental equipment is available.
The trails range in difficulty (there are NO easy trails) but are very doable, even for us (mid fifties) and we manged to spend 2 1/2 hrs doing a variety of them. They are very well marked, well maintained and we lucked out with a nice snowfall just a day before. You can easily make a full day of it with a break in between. Approx. 1 km from the main chalet is another small chalet (refuge) where you can rest and relax for a while. very nice scenery throughout! Well worth it!

We recently got married at the Chateau St-Agnes in August 2023. The place itself is absolutely breathtaking. When the new owners purchased the winery in 2022, we were excited to book our wedding day the following year. Luckily for us, there was only one place left for the following summer. We were ecstatic ! There are two types of packages for weddings, you can either book as inclusive or non inclusive for your wedding day. Non Inclusive package, means that if you book your wedding for example on a Saturday, as we did, you have access to the site as of 5pm that day and must leave and clear everything for the reception hall by 8 am the following day.If however, you book the inclusive package you may access the site as of 8 am on Saturday and there are no outside visitors allowed on site. We decided to opt for the non-inclusive option considering the big price difference and the fact that we celebrated the ceremony at the church at 3pm and would be heading to the cocktail hour around 5pm at the Chateau anyway. In terms of price, make sure to get all your savings out ! It is quiet pricey. We also learned that prices have increased by 5k for next year. Yikes ! If you book the entire site for your wedding, you will pay 20K ! Bear in mind that you are ONLY renting the site for that cost, so nothing else in included. You must rent dishes, napkins, hire a caterer, buy your own alcohol, the list goes on and becomes very costly. Bottom line, the only items that can be used at the chateau are the chairs and tables. We shortly found out that the new owners were only interested in money. I can understand that if you run a business you have bills to pay, however the requests that we made were very minimal and we received ZERO help from the owners.
Our wedding planner asked us if it would be possible to have the napkins and dishes delivered on Friday so that this would allow her sufficient time to get set up on Saturday morning. We asked the owners if that were a possibility to have those items dropped off at the Chateau on Friday before the wedding. Their response: You can book the Chateau inclusively on Friday as well if you want to delivery your items on Friday. That would mean incurring another 10K to deliver dishes and napkins on Friday. I mean... I will leave it that but you get the idea. right ?

When we first booked the Chateau during our visit in August 2022 with the owners, we inquired about using the wood fire pit to bake some pizzas as appetizers for our guests during the cocktail hour. They mentioned to us that it would be possible and that it does not get used enough so that it would be a great idea for us to use it ! Excellent - we were excited! Our caterers required that the wood fire pit be started around 4pm so as to allow sufficient time for oven to be hot enough to bake the pizzas for around 5pm. We confirmed with the owners what our caterers told us and they said no problem. Skip to the Friday prior to our wedding, we went on site to bring several items and ran into the owners. We made sure to reconfirm with them that the wood fire pit would be all set for Saturday. Alex, one of the co-owners confirmed to us that all was good. Fast forward to Saturday, 2pm. It rained in the morning, so the wood that was supposed to go in the fire pit was wet. Alex, told our wedding planner that it would not be used and he doesn't not know how to start the fire pit. We were shocked. Here we are at 2 pm right before our wedding ceremony at 3pm, having to run to the village to buy dry wood and race back to the Chateau. Our caterers explicitly told us that the fire pit had to be all set up for their arrival. How disappointing to have to deal with this on your own wedding day.

Not only the client service not up to part, but the owners were not so friendly when we arrived on site Friday with our wedding cake (that we made our selves) and as you can understand had no time to bring it to the chateau on Saturday morning of our wedding. As we brought the cake inside, one of the owners Stefanny, was showing the Chateau to another couple interested in a wedding, she walked right by us (2 feet away) without even saying hello or acknowledging us. Having travelled the world, we have seen how people greet and welcome you the right way. Its not that difficult, especially when you are in this business you have be client oriented which is certainly not the case here. As mentioned, it is so disappointing as the place is just stunning and has so much history, but to be greeted this way, we cannot recommend this place to any of our friends or acquaintances.

WARNING all future brides and grooms, get ready to do all of the work yourself for your wedding (even with the help of a wedding planner) and not be helped by any way by the owners as explained in our examples above. It is unfortunate that the client service is not up to part to the beauty of this place.

The Tourist Office was not much to look at but the woman at the counter was very helpful. On a busy weekend she had a list of lodgings that still had availability and sold us a hiking pass and map with suggestions for trails to follow. Happy that she could speak perfect English!
    Tip-They have a washroom too!

There are a few clusters of shops, retaurants and tap rooms off of Rue Principale within easy walking distance. Definitely something for everyone on the main street.

This is a small gallery which mainly shows contemporary art made by local artists. Not everything is according to my taste but generally the gallery is a nice and interesting place to visit.

We visited for the first time and it was such a fun visit. There was one female that still had to give birth and she was due that day or the next. So the owner came out to sit in the enclosure to just keep an eye on her and we were able to speak with her and have such an amazing conversation. They also have a little network of trails you can head out to. You can't get lost and if you have kids they will love the experience. I'm an adult and I loved it! The boutique is also so very interesting and I picked up a few items.
If in Sutton it's a definite must see.
