Gibellina nuova is the biggest contemporary outdoor work of art in the world, with an extraordinary collection of works by important artists such as Carla Accardi who created the panels in ceramics Senza titolo - untitled (1987-1988), situated under the colonnade of the town hall, Nino Mustica, creator of a Fontana - Fountain, or Mimmo Rotella, creator of the Omaggio a Tommaso Campanella - Homage to Tommaso Campanella. The Fontana in travertine marble is by Andrea Cascella which, like all the sculptures along the roads in Gibellina, is a reference point from which to get one's bearings in the streets of the butterfly shaped urban layout of the town.

"ideally you start off by burchsing the "Trapani Welcome Card" from the centre of the old city in Pjazza Saturno. which gives you 10 % discount on the ustica lines tickets. book the return ticket before hand becasue it gets busy!"
"Our day trip from historic Trapani to the ruins at Segesta and the medieval hilltown Erice was a pleasure from start to finish. Aldo himself was not available, but his (non-English speaking) substitute was a delightful guide. He collected us promptly from our cruise ship and took really good care of..." us all day, making sure that we saw and did everything we wanted, and adding several helpful suggestions along the way (I can get by in Italian, so the language wasn't a problem, and even my non-Italian speaking husband found him great company). He even treated us to coffee and marsala and super delicious cannoli at a friend's bar. Excellent driving, and a clean, spacious vehicle. Segesta, Erice and Trapani were all great places to visit and this trip really made the most of our day in port. I can highly recommend Trapani tours.

"Walked here from Trapani - enjoyed our tour of the museum - staff very nice and able to do the short tour in English. Had a lovely glass of wine nearby. The very kind lady in the museum called us a taxi."
