As quirky as it sounds, this community of artists/designers takes USED tea bags and makes them into really interesting objects that are perfect souvenirs for a trip to South Africa. It'..."s really an inspiring story of a UK group looking at the intense poverty in the area and say, "we must help in some way." That way turned out to be teabags. From an acorn a mighty oak grew--which is what you might say once you've visited this place. There are art pieces, jewelry, bags, notecards (appropriately, one uses the famous Eleanor Roosevelt quote "women are a lot like teabags; when they get in hot water, they only get stronger"). Talk about Girl Power. I was very skeptical about this venture, but I came away with souvenirs that are so appropriate for my friends back home--and helped others in the bargain.
