What travellers are saying
- David SMaitland, FL4 contributionsWe visited the Eureka Casino for the first time on a cool Sunday morning. It was dark (which I like), pleasant, and neither crowded nor smokey. There was a good selection of slots and video poker (including 9/6 Jacks-or-better at the 25 cent level) with decent returns. We scored some nice casino swag on a new-member promotion and had a good champagne brunch for anout $24/each.
We did not stay in the hotel, but hope to do so next time.Written 26 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are access spots on both the east and west sides with the west my preference if you only have time for one. Little Finland is located 115 miles from Las Vegas and the round trip driving time is just over 5 hours.Written 6 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Earl CSt. George, UT95 contributionsFun location to visit if you have never been there. Remote location and the scenery is nice, especially in spring when the desert flowers are blooming.Written 12 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AdventureawaitsDenver, CO12 contributionsWe drove from LV to Mesquite to play this bucket list course. A 13 HCP I was a bit worried that the course would be too hard and perhaps unplayable for a higher HCP. Thankfully this was not the case and we had a great time. On arrival a golf cart was dropped off at our car. Everyone on and off the course was super-friendly. The course was in fantastic condition with nicely rolling greens and receptive to spin and creative shotmaking. My 15 year old and I had three birdies and a ton of pars from 6377 yards. A fun course to play on a warm and sunny day with little wind. Stunning views and able to finish in 4:15 hours. Good pace! Will we come back - in a heartbeat. Probably one of my top three favorite places to be/golf.Written 23 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travel_Addict_CyprusMichigan1,143 contributionsWell... this was a very rough drive through the Mojave Desert landscape, even in a 4x4 high clearance F150. It was a 1hr drive from Holiday Inn Mesquite to the first point of interest, the Whitney Pocket. Beautiful desert landscape. After the Whitney Pocket, the road got worse. Very bumpy and rough. Cell service was not available in the park, but we had downloaded the maps beforehand. Still, it was hard to find what we were looking for. I had a list of things i wanted to check out but GPS failed us. We were able to get to Little Finland and it was spectacular. We climbed on the rocks, explored a bit and then headed to the Seven Keyholes Slot Canyon. Alas, we were unable to get to the trailhead. The rocky, bumpy ride didn't stop us but apparently they blocked the old road to the trailhead (there are poles there so only ATVs can go through i guess), and the only other plausible option was a narrow dirt path to the left that didn't seem to be suitable for cars.. so very disappointing.. On the way out of the park we stopped at the Falling Man Petroglyph, and tried to follow some directions i had to find it, but we didn't. Once almost out of the park, when cell service was back, i was able to confirm that we were at the right spot, and in the right arch, but just didn't know exactly where it was.
My husband is an experienced driver but got very nervous on these roads, especially since we only encountered a handful of other cars, there was no cell service and it was Christmas Day, so if we had gotten a flat tire in the wilderness, we would have been stranded for a while.. disrupting the rest of our vacation.
I was disappointed i was unable to see the sights i had researched and was looking forward to checking out, but i doubt that i can get my husband to go back.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Prices are sneaking up on a little overpriced.Written 13 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dotty CBoise, ID25 contributionsThe two men, that run the place were great. Very knowledgeable, they were more than willing to answer any questions.
Betty White contributed to getting the rescue farm and this museum set up. People donate items from all over.
Cannot wait to go back sometime.Written 1 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had fun playing them and enjoyed a few hours there.Written 20 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David S4 contributionsWe golfed on a rainy day so that was tough but still a fun course. The only problem I had besides playing terrible that day was not being able to drive in the fairways. Because you could only drive in the rough areas the roughs were getting very muddy. It should have been cart path only or right angles to your ball. If you only have one place to drive it just gets ruined. This place is kind of like playing Wolf Creek but half the cost and not near as hard. Overall a very fun place to play and I would play it again.Written 17 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NitroDogLas Vegas, NV50,443 contributionsThis is a review of the casino. My wife and I visited twice on this visit to Mesquite. They have many new and a few older slot machines. The casino pit has Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and a few other games. The dining at Casa Cafe was very good. The dealers and staff were very friendly. They need to bring back Live Keno and a Poker Room. I added many photos of our visit.Written 29 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wendy LSalt Lake City, UT38 contributionsAs someone who doesn't gamble or play golf, I was hesitant to visit family in Mesquite. Imagine my surprise at discovering the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery and the people who work there and the people who paint there. I spent a wonderful day painting with new friends and hope to return again one day.Written 10 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
