Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Denise MWaukesha, WI68 contributionsInformative, interesting, historical stop set in a park. There's a small gift shop within, things to read. Great place for a homeschooling family to take in. Well-kept bathroom facilities on site. Only open seasonally.Written 19 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MariMaryLake Saint Louis, MO40 contributionsThis museum is open! It is NOT permanently closed. It is free, but donations are appreciated. We visited it. It is under new ownership since Covd-time, and the museum displays have apparently been resupplied by the new owners. The Sod House can be visited but is rapidly being reclaimed by nature which just emphasized for us how difficult life on the prairies must have been in the battle to survive and get ahead.Written 15 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JrnyJunkieCleveland, OH963 contributionsWhen visiting the museum across the street we found out about all of the different varieties of trees here in the park. It was a very hot and sunny day...so the shade was much appreciated. This is indeed a lovely park.Written 27 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- VillagerRickThe Villages, FL1,010 contributionsThis is worth a visit. This free (donations are welcome) attraction is in proximity to the Pony Express Station across the street. To my way of thinking, it is the premier attraction in town. It is a terrific mix of local history, with national representations. The exhibits are well presented, and nicely labeled - the volunteers add a nice flavor to the experience.Written 13 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - simon4431Lincoln, NE42 contributionsTerrific golf course in magnificent condition. Kind of a “Sandhills golf club light”. Since it’s on the edge of the Sandhills, it’s not as dramatic, but it has a similar feel with natural looking bunkers & undulating greens. Fast, beautiful greens with undulations that are noticeable but not extreme. The ball sits up nicely on the fairways. Great views looking down on the U.P. main line & I 80. A neat, still operating windmill on the course. Friendly people in the pro shop & the bar. Pace of play was a bit slow, but allowed one to take a deep breath & enjoy the vistas.Written 25 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robby G CToronto, Canada78,235 contributionsWe went to the Pony Express Station. When we left, we saw a beautiful church. We stopped and took pictures.
It was built with light brown bricks. It had stairs to enter into the church.
It has a tower and a red roof. There are a lot of stained-glass windows.
It is so beautiful!

The iron work is beautifully done and is obviously durable. I straightened the vase up that had fallen over and noticed someone had place a rock painted with a heart and wings, by the middle cross. I also appreciated the little notebook, which was signed by people from all over. You don't need a lot of time there, but on this blustery day, it was so lonely and I thought of those three little ones, wherever they are.Written 25 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
