Thomas Hart Benton's life is present in both his home and his paintings, and both are preserved at Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site. A trip to the home and studio of the renowned painter, sculptor, lecturer and writer offers a glimpse into how the talented Benton lived and worked. Benton converted half of the carriage house into his art studio, which remains as he left it. Visitors can still see coffee cans full of paintbrushes, numerous paints, and a stretched canvas waiting to be transformed into another of his masterpieces. Thomas Hart Benton died in his studio in 1975.

"Both theaters within the Kaufman Center are amazing. The acoustics are fantastic and there is not a bad seat in the house. The clean lines and lightness within the building make it truly an architectural phenomenon. Secure parking is available."
"My teen boys, aged 15 and 17, wanted us to get out of the house tonight, so we literally drove around the Plaza area and the area north of the Plaza, finding the statures and fountains and taking pictures at all of them. It turned into a really fun scavenger hunt / picture fest and some great memori..."es were made - all for the cost of nothing more than a partial tank of gas and some drinks at Quik Trip!

"For years I've been taking my daughters to Crown Center for the atmosphere, entertainment and shopping. It's especially great in the winter with its beautiful holiday lights and decor and because its indoors. There is literally something for everyone, so it's fun to walk around. I feel safe taking..." my kids there, too.
Hot spots for us: Coiterie Theatre (for sure), Kaleidiscope (thank you Hallmark!), rotating kids imaginitive activities (perfect for preschool to first grade), Crayola Cafe and watching fudge made. Kids like Fritz's restaurant for its train but I'd rather have a relaxing and delicious meal at the Italian restaurant. Ice Skating is a bonus in the winter.
