Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- J222_psuChicago, IL1,422 contributionsBrockway Mountain Drive is the more scenic route to get across the peninsula, but the views are worth it. From the top of the mountain you can say a great view of lake superior. There is an area at the top of the mountain that you can pull off and see in all directions. Take the drive on a clear day.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bandgeek20Wisconsin97 contributionsReally neat and dog friendly historical site. Dogs were not allowed inside the buildings but my husband and I just took turns going inside to look at stuff. The views of the lake were pretty. Highly recommended for all ages.Written 21 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicole M31 contributionsA hidden gem. Easy to miss if you don't know where it is, but a can't miss if you've been before! The water looks even more blue from here.Written 13 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- N SOttawa, Canada474 contributionsAmazing trails. And so many great new trails built since my last visit in 2017. Out of the way but well worth the drive. A lot of serious mountain biking, but overall not as daunting a combination of rides as say the main trail system in Marquette. Enough trails to keep you entertained with new trails for at least four days. And Copper Harbor itself is a great place to hang out. Everything is in walking distance. And it has a very casual relaxed vibe.Written 7 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- J222_psuChicago, IL1,422 contributionsHorseshoe Harbor is located at the end of a trail that takes about 15-20 minutes to reach. Tons of interesting rocks, layers of geological layers, and places to play in the sand. There is parking for abut a dozen vehicles at the trail head. As always take snacks and water with you, and take out all your trash.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BlondeCricketBuffalo, NY45 contributionsWe have never been on a more nerve-wracking, intimidating, rocky, narrow, uneven road that provided so much entertainment as well as a beautiful view of Lake Superior. We read how bad the roads were, but the trip was worth it. Luckily everyone in our group had large trucks with 4 wheel drive. I can't imagine taking anything smaller, although people did. Fun!Written 25 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Christy S11 contributionsThis is not the most impressive waterfall that I've been to, but it's pretty. The trail is quite steep and we did have a little bit of trouble finding out where it was, it's one of those things that is not well marked or listed in very many places and the GPS does not work up there.Written 30 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - J222_psuChicago, IL1,422 contributionsMontreal Falls is a must do if you are in the area. Located down a trail that hugs the lake, the Falls are reached after parking near the end of a service road. You park at the end of the road that is near private property, hike in about an hour and there are the falls. Take some water, a backpack and some snacks with you. As always, take your trash with you when you leave.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ST23Meridian, ID461 contributionsA little gem of a shop. Great photography, local art work. Nice quality, items are not inexpensive but worth the investment for a memory of the UP.Written 12 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - J222_psuChicago, IL1,422 contributionsThe overlook is located just outside of town and offers some expansive and amazing views of the area - and the night sky. One of the few dark sky spots in the area, this is a must visit at night. There is limited parking so you might have to park on the road. At a minimum, you should plan on 15-20 minutes.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SnowyShastaPortland, OR2,151 contributionsWe didn't attempt to visit the lighthouse. It's no longer operational, and I think there may be occasional tours? But we enjoyed looking at it from our ferry and from an overlook above Copper Harbor. It's fairly small, but adds to the character of the harbor.Written 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lynn Van HooseToledo, OH214 contributionsI will start by saying, I don't drink beer. With that being said, I love this place.
I like visiting breweries with my boyfriend. I love seeing him explore something he loves, and I like seeing what alternatives breweries have for people like me who don't drink beer.
First off, this place gave me the best root beer I have ever had.
The bartender was the owner, and he gave us a lot of info about what it's like to live in this small unique town. He also got everyone to talk to one another because of his stories and he actually seemed to enjoy hearing what everyone was saying. If you get a chance, ask him about being the bus driver and his kid. That was awesome.
I really liked the Up North feel of this place. I enjoyed the very UP feel even outside. I enjoyed the unity of breweries there with the displays of stickers from so many other breweries. It allowed me to rep the 419 Ale Trail there.
The brewery is actually kid friendly because of the games and age appropriate games for kids. I really have to say this is one of my fave breweries and would go back to Copper Harbor mostly to visit here again.
Thank you for being here. It was such a great memory of our trip.Written 27 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Second, the “crazy golf” addition was SO fun with my short attention-spanned kids. Third, the gardens are gorgeous! Such a great spot to stop for some fun, whether as adults or with kids!Written 8 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
