A wonderful aquarium to learn about the Mississippi, with fish, turtles, reptiles, jellyfish, an alligator, otters, diving ducks, and more. They also have areas where you can gently touch stingrays, starfish, and anemones, with helpful staff to guide and educate you. The museum is also excellent, with a functioning historical machine shop, historical displays, and lots for all ages. Highly recommend a visit!

This is a fun ride to the top of the bluff. It is inexpensive and the views are amazing! Great photo opportunity. You can see three states - Iowa (Dubuque), Illinois and Wisconsin. It is right on the Great River Road. Be sure to visit the coffee shop at the bottom of the bluff in Fenelon Place.

We had a walk in this park on a cloudy but warm December day. It's huge. Very nice views of Mississippi river. It's definitely more attractive in Spring/Summer/Fall. Would like to go there again.

Great trip. We arrived at approximately 2 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the park. The park was on the bigger side, and contained various hiking trails to choose from. There were also decently sized parking lots in front of several of the trails. We started our trip by hiking the prairie ridge and cedar ridge trail. The trail took us through us through a field, where we were surrounded by various colorful flowers. The trail was relatively easy to hike, and consisted of walking on an even surface for a majority of the hike. We then reparked our car closer to the next trail and proceeded to hike the sauk and fox trail. This trail was a little more trickier to hike, as it had several up and down sections to it. This trail connected to the horseshoe bluff trail and calcite trail. These trails contained beautiful views of the bluffs and a lake. This portion of the trail was moderate in difficulty and did contain several staircases to view the bluffs from different levels. The last trail that we hiked was the Julian Dubuque trail, which was a moderate uphill hike, that led to the Julian Dubuque statue and sweeping views of the Mississippi River. There were informational plaques located alongside portions of the trail, that detailed the history of the area and of Julian Dubuque.

Tip: I recommend spending 6 hours here if you truly want to see everything.

Gorgeous botanical gardens maintained entirely by volunteers!! We chatted with a number of volunteers while there who were all very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Something beautiful to see all times of the year. Even better is that it is open every day of the year and admission is completely free!! Highly recommend a visit!

A nice walk along the river with some cool sculptures along the way. Ended at a winery and had a chance to relax before the short walk back

Stone Cliff is a few feet from the Mississippi in the historic Dubuque Star Brewery. My husband & I enjoyed our bottle of wine & appetizers, everything we saw looked yummy! They have indoor and outdoor seating, and the decor is like a cozy wine cellar. Great food, superb service and a fantastic atmosphere. This was the first stop of our 15-day trip out west. If you miss it, you will miss a great memorable spot.

ST Luke's United Methodist Church is located on Main Street of Dubuque, this is the fourth church built by the United Church in Dubuque but not on this site. The Docents of the church gave a wonderful history of the church & explained each of the Tiffany Stained glass windows. Admission is free but donations are accepted to help with the maintenance, well worth your time to drop in do the tour & marvel at the Tiffany windows.

This place is a little rusty on the outside. Could use some updating to landscaping and paint. The inside is old school 70’s vibe, however the cave tour is fun! It’s about 45 minutes long and you learn a lot about the history of the cave. Our tour guide was awesome and really great with the kids on the tour. It was HOT outside, so this was also a nice reprieve from the heat. About 54 degrees in the cave. Wear good shoes. Not for anyone with mobility issues or aversion to small spaces. Glad we went!

Gambled here for an afternoon (about 4 hours). We had a great time playing keno at the bar and drinking some wine ($4 a glass). plenty of bonuses and lots of fun and only lost about $100 between the two of us. Great time

The friendliness of the owners is outstanding. We are not dry wine fans, but she explained to us how enjoy and appreciate a dry wine. We had been there 5 years earlier and we enjoyed that experience also. Just nice and friendly common folks who happen to make some pretty good wine. You can also buy a bottle of wine and sit out on the patio and enjoy it or bring a lunch to eat with your wine.

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 5 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the river walk. The Art on the River sculptures were located alongside the riverwalk trail. There were several sculptures out for display, from artists all around the country. It took us roughly 15 minutes to walk on the trail each way. There were benches located alongside the riverwalk as well, and we were able to see great views of the water.

Tip: I recommend spending 30 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.
