The Dinosaur Store facility includes the museum gift store, the Adventure Zone, and when complete in Spring 2013, the Museum of Dinosaurs and Ancient Cultures (located on 2nd and 3rd floor). The museum gift store, The Dinosaur Store, has been featured on CNN, Popular Mechanics, Southern Living and a many other national media venues. It boasts one of the largest selections of authentic fossils and minerals in the private world. The Adventure Zone is a separate interactive area for the entire family, featuring live reptiles, including gators up close. It includes over 25 unlimited play /educational stations for one low price. An amusement ride that makes you feel like you are spinning and rocking around in the ocean is also available for an additional charge (restrictions apply). The admission to the museum gift store is complimentary and the Adventure Zone has an admission charge. Parking is free. Both are open 7 days a week. Please visit our website for more information. "Not too crowded, easy to find space for family to hang out, find shells, swim...
Rental chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards available on the beach. Restaurants and shops within walking distance. Lifeguard on duty.
This was a nice, low key beach that was fun for adults and kids. The water ..."was warm and the waves not too big for easy swimming fun.
The only downside here was seeing a shark while swimming with the kids. It didn't bother anyone and I was told it was a small one that wouldn't bother us. Nobody else seemed concerned about it and I didn't let it ruin our fun in the water.
This was my first time at an Atlantic beach... don't know how common sharks are in the surf here. In nearly 50 years in the Pacific, I've never seen one.

"Took day trip from Orlando to Cocoa Beach. Per a local, went to 16th St Public beach access, with shower and changing rooms. Lifeguards on duty. Beautiful spot on beach, not too busy. Lots of small seashells for the kids."
"Ron Jon Surf camp was so much fun the first time it's become an annual event in my daughter's summer. Each day begins at 9AM with safety discussions, sunscreen slathering, and 'how to' explanations--all important for a successful and pain-free experience. The real learning takes place on the water--..."just a short walk from the shop (yes, a very short walk--like across the street and over the dunes).
Kids are assigned to small groups based on age and experience and if they signed up with a friend or sibling. The instructor student ratio is about 1:4, so every kid is watched (and coached) carefully.
Most campers can catch a wave and ride in by the end of the first morning. By the end of the week some are able to do simple surfing tricks (like pivot on their board). It's a great achievement for them and the kids feel proud of their new skills.
