The Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort golf course in Lake Tahoe, California is an 18-hole, par-72 (men and women) course that will both challenge golfers’ skills and appeal to their senses. Designed by Robert Muir Graves, the course integrates Tahoe’s rugged, wooded landscape with wavy bunkers and putting greens. The result is an active golf course whose features create a flow of movement that seamlessly moves in and over the natural terrain.Playing up to 6,781 yards, the Northstar® Resort golf course offers four tee locations and carries a rating of 72.4 from the Northern California Golf Association. The Mountain nine demands precise, tight play through tree-lined fairways and across small greens. The Meadow nine opens up to a links-style course allowing golfers to grip it and rip it!

"I usually ski at Squaw, but this year I skied at Northstar because my son and daughter-in-law wanted to ski there (they are snowboarders and they think the parks are really good). What a surprise! I hadn't been there in years, and assumed it was still rather small, run-down, and intermediate, at b..."est. At least that's the way I remembered it from quite a few years ago. But oh, not so! This resort is FANTASTIC!
I will start at the beginning by saying that although the parking lots are a good distance from the resort, the shuttle buses from the parking lot to the resort are very frequent, and so there is no real hassle at all. The only bad part is that you don't want to leave anything behind in your car, because it is still a long trip back from the slopes. The good thing is that the resort has lockers for rent in the village and at mid-mountain: about $7. for the day (unlimited access). After getting off the shuttle bus, you walk through the village, which is super nice. The...

"We've been skiing there for three years until our kids got old enough for the big mountains. It is very cozy, safe and kids friendly mountain. There are two lifts there - green and blue. They have rent, ski and snowboard classes, different events to entertain young sportsmen, races, bar and food at ..."good prices. Our favorite was Glow stick parade in February. It is crowded on Xmas week and Ski-week in February. All people there are skiing carefully and safely.

Donner Memorial State Park and Emigrant Trail Museum
"I have an interest in the Donner Party tragedy, and wanted to check this out while we were driving around Lake Tahoe. The hubby had little or no interest, but agreed to make the stop. First of all, the information and sights regarding the Donner Party was great. Yes, the film was old, but really int..."eresting and we both enjoyed it. The museum was pretty uninspiring though, but hopefully this will be improved when the new center opens soon. But then we walked the Nature Trail, and that was lovely. Very pretty and interesting, even though we were there before all the wildflowers.
