  "Have been up this way a few times, but had never driven north of Hearst Castle. Nice find along the coast. There were hundred of seals the day we visited and it was interesting to watch them interact with each other and bask in the sun. Great place to bring the kids. "

Amazing how they built it without the equipment and technology that we have today. The Ride to the top with a bus is awesome looking at the castle get larger the closer you get, and then the valley view as you go down is fantastic. We are glad it is open to the public. Be sure to see the large wale seals 4 miles north on Hwy 1, not part of this attraction, and is free. " More >

We took the evening tour and loved the views and the comprehensive nature of the experience. But our tour guide, even with 12 years of experience, was low energy, wandered off topic and was..." a distraction to an otherwise excellent trip. Our bus driver, on the other hand was terrific and provided outstanding service and personal notes about the Hearst family. For perspective, the tour guide behind us was providing a far more interesting narrative about the castle and the guests and the family. It made us wish we could switch groups as we were really looking forward to this tour. " More >
