This is the home of the Alice's Bear Shop story books. You can often find the Author and illustrator Rikey Austin working on her next project or meet some of the real life characters from the books. Come visit the Teddy Bears in the Teddy Bear Hospital. If you have time they'd just love a get well soon card.

"This aquarium is not your typical aquarium with a multitude of tropical fish. Rather it has only locally caught fish and is educational in that respect (as somebody who works on fishing policy professionally, this is quite important). It is also the only the only place that I know of worldwide wher..."e mullets come and eat out of your hands (it's like being kissed by hundreds of little soft fish lips). Max, the owner, is great with children and will also let them hold the star fish and will take out the enormous lobsters to let the kids take a closer look. The kids simply did not want to leave. A great idea for a rainy day on a Lyme Regis visit!

"We enjoyed the fossil hunting walk organised by the museum for £10 per person. Lasting around 3 hours and led by Chris, we and the rest of the dozen or so people were taken out along the beach and shown examples of the kind of things to look for, before being let loose to see what we could find. Chr..."is and his colleague Ben then split open any interesting rocks we'd turned up and examined and explained anything that we found as we wandered around for 90 minutes or so.
We were fortunate in finding a "nodule" containing a decent-sized fossil ammonite and we were invited to bring it back to their workshop (underneath the Teddy Bear shop) after the walk for further cleaning. They cleaned it up beautifully and refused any payment for doing so, giving us a fantastic souvenir.
Chris and his colleagues were enthusiastic and very knowledgeable and we learned something, as well as having fun hunting around on the beach.
The only reason I haven't given five stars is that we spent a bit lo...
