The open-air amphitheatre was opened in 1977 by the world renowned Russian pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy. The mostly Spanish architecture of the theatre, inspired by the Tarragon Amphitheatre in Spain and the Veakion Amphitheatre in Piraeus, Greece, adds to the splendorous setting. We offer trail rides just outside Stellenbosch with horses which are trained according to natural horsemanship methods and have natural lifestyles. We ride over Stellenbosch wine farms through the vineyards and fynbos to the top of the historical Bottelary hills. Throughout there are magnificent views of Stellenbosch, its mountains, False Bay and even Table Mountain. We offer special outings which can include picnics, wine-tasting or watching a spectacular sunrise or sunset.

"The shop was started by a group of local women who wanted to show what it was like when the shop was stocked with typical local products as it was at the turn of the century.
It is a cooperative store. They have a huge variety of products - from local wines, dried fruit selection, a book collection...", some shoes and clothes, unique candy, art, etc. Try the buttermilk "biskuit" - you dip in in your hot coffee and then enjoy it.

"The picnic at Warwick is such a treat! The food was delicious. We did a tasting first to help us choose one of Warwick's excellent wines. The young lady who conducted the tasting was fun to talk with and very knowledgeable. We'd go often if we lived nearby."
"scenic views, and old style houses, beautiful area and farm. wine tasting experience in the cellar is great, and make sure to have a little coversation with the staff there, they are very friendly and happy to answer queries. the wine is amazing and even the red shiraz at R25 each (of course i bough..."t 6 bottles) is a bargain and great tasting wine.
at their little restaurant you can sit under the pergola on the terrace and look out (on a really clear day) over the valley and in the distance you see table mountain. such a picturescue view and a must do photo opportunity.
the owners also have 5 dogs, but i only know that after talking to the very friendly staff. the dogs are cute and very friendly and only want a cuddle when they come up to your table.
the food is so good!!! the snoek and patats are highly recommended (fish cakes) and so is the mushroom tagliatelle. also get yourself a few bottles of their vera cruz wine and something you like the taste of from the tastings in the cell...
