Be sure to take your camera and eats because when you reach the Homtini River the rewards are satisfying and you will want to spend some time there. The waters of the river are very refreshing and is a great idea to take your swim wear for a dip in the summer.

The well-known Elephant Walk at Diepwalle starts and ends at the Diepwalle Forest Station, the "Mecca" of the Knysna forests. The walk offers a number of route options (7km, 8km & 9km). The area is regularly visited by the Knysna elephants but the chance of sighting of these animals is very slight. Currently there are only one elephant left in the forest. The trails are open between 6h00 and 18h00

Rivers generally flow in deep gorges on their way from the mountains to the sea, therefore there are seven passes along the way, hence the name of the route. These are the passes crossing the Swart-, Kaaimans- and Silver-, Touw-, Hoogekraal- and Karatara rivers, the Homtini gorge and the Phantom pass.
