The Sudwala Caves is the oldest known caves in the world and lie in the Drakensberg escarpment.Regular guided tours take you 600 meters in and 150 meters underground. Tours leave every 10 min (approx) and take about 30 minutes. The caves have some amazing formations including stalactites, stalagmites, flow stones and pre cambrian fossils. The most famous formation is the Screaming Monster. This is actually a stalactite that has joined with a stalagmite and has formed a column that is 200 million years old.

"Have visited the park for years and stayed at every rest camp, in either rondavels, tents of safari tents. It is just a wonderful experience and has afforded so many magic moments, with differing encounters with various animals and other resident wildlife, It is very safe, as long as you stay in the..." car when out viewing(there are a few human idiots around), I feel embarrassed to lock my car or accommodation, as people are only there to enjoy the same as I.Favourite camps are Shingwedzi and Letaba, less busy than the southern camps. Roads are tarred or graded gravel/sand and easy to drive around.Just cannot stop going back and back again.

"Lucky enough to see the big five- park is amazingly huge- however I recommend booking ahead and planning your route ahead of time to be able to change overnight stays. Accommodations were good-
You get unbelievably close to all kinds of wildlife!! A must do!!!!"
