The Train Museum, located on the second floor of the rebuilt Aiken Railroad Depot, has nine dioramas that depict the towns, as they were in 1916, along the South Carolina Canal and Railroad Company right of way. This railroad became the first designed steam powered commercial railroad in the US and the longest railroad in the world. These dioramas are done in the familiar HO scale and are complimented by interactive displays depicting railroad history.

"We spent about 2 hours here on a Saturday morning and it was very quiet. The house is impressive and the rooms go on and on...and are filled with an amazing variety of old "stuff". It's got a nice informal atmosphere, where you can get up-close and personal with many of the artifacts. And it's fre..."e, like everything else we did in Aiken (besides eat).

"Nice place to spend an hour walking around and enjoying the gardens. Beautiful trees, well tended walkways, restroom facilities in the paddock of the museum and a nice quite area to sit and swing plus they have shaded parking. The museum was not open when we were there."
"I'm not the best golfer but I love this golf course! High recommend!! It's within the city itself and it's beautiful and just right for my skill level."
