"This beach has a bit of traffic from new years through march, but it's never overwhelming. There's a good yardage of sand with no vehicles of any sort except for the reed boats (caballitos de totora) which have been made and used on these shores for hundreds of years. The pier is presently closed ..."as they are repairing it. There are spots where trinkets are sold, but mostly it is unadulterated, though there are restaurants on the boardwalk (Is is called a boardwalk if it's made of stone and cement?

"Rancho Santana offers a super rustic bungalow made out of mud bricks, a hugh room with a double bed and a bunkbed in the countryside of Chiclayo near the pyramids of Tucume and the Pomac forest (worlds biggest dry forest). It gots a big bathroom with hot shower and a garden with hammocks to relax an..."d do birdwatching.
A great place to stay away from the busy and noisy town Chiclayo. From there you are able to visit the important archaelogical sites around Chiclayo, also to swim in the biggest pool of the north (www.laspirkas.com), just 5 minutes by bus from the Rancho Santana. The swiss-peruvian owners are very friendly and helpful and if you like they take you around to visit the sites. They are also offering horseback riding tours to the archaelogical sites. Lots of fruits like mangos to eat on the Ranch. Its 35 Soles to stay including a delicious breakfast with eggs from their chicken, homemade cheese and fresh milk from their cows.
