"This trip was most enjoyable, given the good weather in the morning and friendly guides. The entire package cost each person RS 400 000.
The guide was very prompt in picking us up from the hotel.
From Seminyak, the drive to the Kintamani, the starting point took approximately 2 1/2 hours.
Along..." the way, we stopped at Abian Sari Agro Wisata which is a small farm that houses Arabica and Robusta coffee plants, cocoa, fruit trees and herbs such as cinnamon, cloves and turmeric. Here, you can see the civet cat or luwak which is responsible for the infamous Kopi Luwak, get to sample the signature coffee and purchase the coffee powder, herbal teas like ginger and lemon and scrubs/lotions made from traditional ingredients. The products sold here are not found in Ubud/Kuta shops.
The next stop is at Kintamani, where you can see the famous volcano, Mt Batur and the surrounding lake Batur. After a snack of fried banana fritters, we adjourne to the area where we can choose our bikes. Ridin...

"I have been here for many times, and almost each time I come I find something new! Probably their biggest competitor is Bali Safari & Marine Park, but they truly worked hard to be better! Thumbs up for Bali Zoo, now we may have our meal at the restaurant across the lions open air cage! We can see th..."e lions behind the glass! The most that I like, is the educational animal show while you have your lunch at 1 pm and the opportunity to take few photoes with little animals, like crocodile, birds, snake, Binturong, tigers or lions cub. Cool! And that is for free!
I love to order the famous Indonesian Nasi Goreng. The zoo area is greeny, tidy and nice, they even now have elephants! I suggest to bring the food for animals, they are very welcome for food donation and animal feeding by guests.
There is a night zoo too, starting at 6 pm, but if you would like to ride an elephant you have to come earlier, at 5 pm would be good.
Love this place!

"At $23 per person entry fee, it's pretty pricey by Bali standards. However, it doesn't take too long to realise that that money is put to great use. The birds are very clearly looked after, in great health and very happy and extremely tame. There are a number of birds that you can handle - mccaws...", eclectus, majors, african greys. There's also a walk through tropical aviairy where you can call the lorrikeets down from the trees for a scratch.
On your way round, guides will be on hand to take a picture of you with various birds and you can buy those pics on your way out of the park (of course, the usual tourist trap) but they'll also happily take your camera and get some great shots of you and the birds for you to have for free.
Worth a look if you're passing (and aren't scared of birds)!
