This tadpole-shaped rock island is the largest of five islandsbetween the historical Bataan and Cavite shores. Some geologists theorize that Corregidor was once part of a huge volcano that erupted on one side and gradually eroded to become partly invisible beneath the sea. It is called "The Rock" because it served as the major bastion of Philippine's Allies during World War II.

"We booked the trip through Filipino Travel Center. We were picked up at exactly 4am in Manila and enjoyed the light traffic conditions out of the city. The van was spacious and very comfortable for our party of three. Formalities at Sta. Juliana took a very short time and we transferred to the 4W..."D vehicle. It took about an hour of pretty tame 4WD driving up the Crow Valley to the start of the walk. Our tour guide came with us but he could not understand a word of English. Our party were all fit, active trampers and found the walk very easy. You definitely need to take heaps of water with you. We reached the crater after a 1.5 hour long walk. The view is impressive. Disappointing that there no interpretation boards giving detailed information about the mountain and the history, geology of the area so you need to research prior to going. A pleasant hour walk back to the vehicle. We were supposed to visit the Capas National Shrine but that was not offered. We were back in the...

"We left Legazpi City at 3 o' clock pm and reached the municipality of Bulusan at around six in the evening. We checked-in at a residence house just across the police station owned by Philip. Each air conditioned room cost you Php 1,000.00/day. No breakfast since it is good for transient visitors on..."ly. The room could accommodate at least four to six persons. There is no charge for an extra bed!!! Just tell the receptionist how many people will accommodate the room and they will provide you with the bed and bed dings. We had our dinner at Fulo Hot Spring, that is 8 kilometers away from the place we stayed.
The next day was a big day for us because we are to visit the most popular attraction in Bulusan - Lake Bulusan with Mt. Bulusan at the background. The distance from the highway is about 300 meters. Upon entering the site you will be mesmerized by the beauty of nature. A lot of trees abound the area and everywhere is green. The fauna is indeed very alive and you will appreciate wh...

"The best season to go here is during summer, so you get great photos. You have to ride a 4x4 jeep to reach the foot of the crater. Expect a bumby ride because the way to Pinatubo is rocky and has a rugged terrain. Once you reach the base, you will hike for 15-18 minutes to reach the crater. Quit..."e tiring but so worth it when you see the beautiful calm green lake of the crater.
