This market si the true heart of Warsaw's Old Town, and until the end of the 18th century it was the heart of the city. Representatives of guilds and merchants met in the Town Hall here (demolished in 1817), fairs and occasional executions were held. The four sides of this vast square are named after the most famous 18th century Polish parlamentarians. Destroyed during World War II, the square was rebuilt to look as it did when rich merchant families lived here in the 17th century. With its little cafes and street performers, it's an interesting place to admire the architecture and to taste local beer and food.

"I must say that I do not like having the City tours together with other people. There are usually screaming kids, that are totaly not interested in hearing what the guide has to say or the teenagers who were made by their parents to join the group, thats why me and my boyfriend decided on a private ..."tour. And I must say we made a great choice!
From the moment we came to Warsaw we wanted to go to the roof gardens by the Warsaw University Library, visit Wilanow Casle and get to the top of the Palace of Culture (there is a viewing point there!). So we asked if it is possible to visit this places (they were not mentioned on any leaflet we have seen. It was orginized right away. The guide told us a lot about Warsaw, about how it was destroyed during the war- and we were surprised how Warsaw was rebuilt! It`s a beautiful city!
What can I say more... the guide spoke perfect english and was really nice! The car had air conditioning (and thank god for that! it was really hot outside!!)
