"Even in the rain (which it does 280 days a year), this place is magical. The waterfalls racing down the cliffs, the seals/sea lions and the richness of the place is one of nature's show places"
"This was without a doubt one of the most spectacular landscapes I encountered in 5 months of travelling. Yes it isn't the easiest of walks (if you're not the fittest of people like me) but the views are a worthy reward for this beautiful part of the world. The beech forests are alive with bird song ..."and I was lucky enough to see a Kea whilst up on the mountain ridges. The huts are comfortable and very well maintained and the rangers on duty, very helpful and informative. You can cut this track short by 15km on the final day if you so wish but the achievement for me was the entire 60km circuit, along with the 10 min side trip to get to the top of Mount Luxmore - the panoramic of the Te Anau basin is worth it alone. I'd gladly so this Great Walk again :)

"Totally worth the money!!! We were a bit skeptic when we paid the bill, but we’ll never regret it!! First you take the boat over lake manapouri and then the bus to the beginning of doubdful sound. You are treated well on this part of the journey, with free thee or coffee and constant information abo..."ut the geology, conservation, wildlife,… once on the fiord it’s like heaven! The scenery is mildly speaking just stunning!! We got to see a fair bit of wildlife too, like fjordland crested and little blue penguin, buller’s mollyhawk, many sea lions, dusky dolphins and a spectacular morning show of bottlenose dolphins which came to play in front of the boat. At one moment we also could go for a swim and a kayak trip in the middle of the fiord. Also the food was delicious. All you can eat, so good! Highly recommended!
