"Along with the Cliffs of Moher, the Rock of Cashel is a must see for visitors to Ireland. We went on a clear day and were caught unawares by the huge drop in temperature on the top of the rock - can only think it was the wind chill factor that caused us to feel so perishingly cold. So my advice to f..."uture visitors is - wrap up more warmly than normal!
The guided tour was great - the young lady who took us around is to be commended on her ineresting commentary which was really well researched and delivered in a punchy fashion. We had some of the commentary indoors in a hall used by the choristers, and a video was shown in the same building on a different floor.
I found the Cormac chapel fascinating,especially the way in which humidity in the chapel is constantly monitored and controlled according to the numbers of people passing through.
