Imagination, knowledge and deep roots. The Donnafugata wines are a passionate interpretation of Sicily and its sensorial universe. Donnafugata was created in Sicily by an enterprising family with 160 years’ experience in premium wines. The adventure began in the Rallo family’s historic cellars in Marsala in 1983 and at its Contessa Entellina vineyards in the heart of western Sicily. In 1989 Donnafugata arrived on the island of Pantelleria, starting to produce naturally sweet wines.

The Pinna Nobilis Diving club is situated in Borgo Biscione, a small area along the southwestern coast of the province of Trapani. It is a diving center where the divers will find a friendly atmosphere, not just a commercial place. Dives are performed in the Sicily Channel, where the main mediterranean species are present.

"Although exhibition is quite small - it is very well presented and documented - anyone with an interest in history and archeaology should visit. Location is right at the westernmost tip of Sicily!"
"One of our most enjoyable discoveries was accidentally finding Saline Ettore e Infersa and its amazing salt fields along with a few small towns and settlements that looked a little like grand hopes gone wrong. Driving while keeping the sea to our left always kept us on the coast road and led us into..." and out of many small appealing towns as well. Olive groves were everywhere. Wheat escaped the fields and grew by the roadside. Artichokes were more common than tomato plants and then there were the salt fields.
The fields are very old and no doubt were not so artifully maintained until tourism picked up in this area. We drove past the tourist areas into places where the charming wheelbarrows used to collect salt which is piled high and covered with beautiful tiles were replaced with small bulldozers and plastic tarps. Still, the whole area seemed magical. You can read a little more about it and see lots of photographs of it by visiting my website http://www.krika.com/STORIES%20ITALY/SSI...

"We had a wonderful visit at the Donnafugata Winery. First of all, their website makes it a breeze to schedule the visit. Second of all, even if you are in a small group, they will take the time to show you everything and explain the story behind their business (we were their only two guests at that ..."particular hour). During the tasting, you can chose between 3 or 6 wines (7/10 euro) from their entire line. They also offer other tastings and lunches for larger groups.
