The Lulle Valley is located in Skibotn, one of the driest areas in Scandinavia. The 2.5 km long trail takes you through untouched natural and cultural landscapes. The valley has more than 12 different orchids. Marisko (Cypripédium calcéolus), the most famous of these, is extremely widespread in this valley. A knowledgeable guide will accompany you on this exciting excursion. Included: Transport (90 min), lunch, dinner

"The Polar Museum (Polarmuseet) is located a couple of minutes walk north of Tromsø center, in old but well maintained buildings. As the name implies it covers the activities in the arctic areas, such as expeditions, hunting etc. The exhibition is suprisingly large considering the somewhat cramped ar..."ea available, is well laid out, but often only with Norwegian explanations. An English translation is presumebly available on loan, but I cannot comment on this as I haven't seen it. Anyway, English labels should be incorporated in the exhibition itself. However, the exhibition is quite interesting, and is recommended to Tromsø visitiors interested in the arctic.

"we fortunately had clear skies and having been collected at 17.30 had time to do some photography of the beautiful fjord views in the snow as the sun was setting before waiting for the Aurora which we were able to see off and on for 4 hours or so . it was less green than we'd seen on pictures - appa..."rently the colour shows through the camera more than with the naked eye but it was amazing for all that . George and Marianne worked really hard to help us with pictures and even sent us a few of their pictures from that night after the event . A roadside BBQ and ' wee dram ' were unexpected extras . The warm clothing provided made a big difference as you're not moving a lot so really do need good insulation . They kept stopping for further sightings on the way back to Tromso so we actually got to the hotel at 3 a m .. they could not have made more effort for their customers

"The museum is located on the quayside between the Hurtigruten quay and the main bridge so its an easy visit off the Hurtigruten and i would definitely recommend it. The exhibits are a bit tired but generally it is really good, inside is a bit like a tardis, The best parts are the areas that deal wit..."h Amundsen and Fridjtof who are Norway's most famous explorers - their stories are really interesting and well told. You should pick up a guide book (in various languages) as there is limited instruction across the museum in English and German. Fascinating and well worth a couple of hours.
