"I love this place, this concept, the events - it is the opposite of what most attractions are about, which are either about something in the past or plain entertainment. The AEC is about the future. It is about digital technologies and how they interact or might interact with art and society. It is ..."artsy but nothing static - most is interactive, playful, surprising. It is much about technology - digital media at its core but anything around that as well, from robotics to virtual reality, from geospacing to biotech. The AEC is a building with a selection of departments that keep on changing. In each department there are several things to experience and play with. There is always a person helping you handle it or understand it - most are students from either the arts or technology university. The departments and exhibitions keep on changing - every couple of months so it is worthwhile checking in every now and then.
It also has an amazing 3D video hall where they show you what can be d...

"We took the boat from Passau to Linz and planned to come back by bus 3 1/2 hours later. Most of the historical sites are centered around the main square which is only about a 10 min walk from where the boat docks by the Lentos museum. Among the worthwhile sights are the Alte Dom with its twin towers..." and the Neue Dom whi h is very large and has a very tall spire. There are some beautiful stained glass windows in the Neue Dom, both old and more modern. Do take time to try some of the delicious Austrian pastries and ice cream while you are in Linz- you won't regret it. On our way back to the boat dock to catch the bus back to Passau, we lingered in the Main Square just to watch and enjoy this lovely square and the people who were doing the same. To get to the bus you may want to take the pedestrian bridge, which is just off the main street, over the busy main road in front of the Lentos museum. If you are taking the bus back to Passau, it leaves at 17.30 from the same place that the boa...

"I visited the memorial as part of a tour of Europe with 27 others.
At the beginning of the visit we were shown a 45 min video which was very confronting and bought people to tears.
The memorial itself was very spacious, informative and respectful.
Being able to see the original barracks, stair..."s of death, gas chambers and crematorium really made you realise how poor the conditions were for those forced to work in these labour camps.
We attended the newly opened exhibitions which were also very well done.
I would recommend a visit to this memorial to anyone with the slightest interest in WW2 as it will increase your interest immediately.
