The Biblioteca Ambrosiana is a historic library in Milan, Italy, also housing the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, the Ambrosian art gallery. Named after the patron saint of Milan, it was founded by Cardinal Federico Borromeo (1564–1631). The library's collection is rich in classical manuscripts, notably Homer and Vergil, in incunabula, and in Oriental texts. It also contains Leonardo da Vinci's profusely illustrated Codex Atlanticus, now exhibited for the first time at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana and at the monunmental Sacristy by Bramante in Santa Maria delle Grazie.
