"The Fuggerei is the oldest social housing project in Europe - and it's still in use. You can walk around the area, visit a museum and two show-apartments. One apartment shows the historical house, the other a modern version. There's also a little Biergarten and shop (run by the community) and a WWII..."-bunker. The latter has some history from the Fuggerei during the WWII. There's a church here too.
The walk around the area doesn't take long, but it's interesting to see the small details on the walls and roofs. You can't enter other apartments than the two, as people live there, but the area itself gives a good impression of the life here. You're almost certain to see a few of the people living here too.

"I like this zoo because it is small and therefore just the right place for smaller kids. There are usual zoo animals to be seen, few shops and restaurants. All in one - nicely spend afternoon with kids..."
"We took a walking tour from the Tourist Center which included a visit to the first social housing project. 147 four room apts (2 bedrooms, kitchen & living room). Large compared to some NYC apts. Though updated, the requirements for admittance remain the same today: must be of limited interest, ..."honest, catholic and recite the Lord's Prayer everyday. Yearly rent remains the same as in the 1500's. Less than one euro per year plus utilities. My favorite aspect was how each of the doorbells were different.
