"Long weekend in May for Pentecote and Saintes-Maries-de-la-mer has a festival in the arena with a display of bulls and toreador. Tickets 11 euros for 2 and a half hour spectacle. "
"On a whim, we decided to drive from Avignon to Arles and parked in the municipal parking lot by the town gate. A short three block walk brought s to the Amphitheatre. It was closed as we arrived on a Sunday evening about 7 pm. However, this structure impresses and is worth the drive. We have see..."n many ruins and historic sites throughout Italy, but this one took our breath away, and this despite and because of the extensive modern renovations that allow the arena to be used today. One can only imagine how grandiose it must have been 2,000 years ago clad in marble.

"I always wondered what was Les Alyscamps when I saw pictures by this name by Gogh and Gauguin. There were many paintings with this name by Van Gogh and Gauguin. It is old ancient Roman necropolis. It is about 15 minutes from the center of Arles and it is very nice walk. Especially you are interested..." in van Gogh and Gauguin's paintings, I highly recommend to go this place.
