"This small but lovely museum is a fabulous mansion on a tiny street in the heart of old Toulouse a couple of blocks from the Place du Capitole. It was built at the end of the sixteenth century by Antoine Dumay, who was the personal physician of Marguerite de Navare. The exhibits present, through art...", costumes, ceramics, etc. a sense of the everyday life of Toulousains across the centuries. Wandering through the rooms is a pleasure, but taking a guided tour as we did (in French only) is the best way to get the most from the collection. The museum also presents special exhibits; when we were there we saw a wonderful display of photographs from the time of the May 1968 student and worker revolt. He also told me that every tour she gives, she always brings a snack and something to drink, which on this one she brought finger cake, water, and English milk tea, which was really nice in the hot su...

Musee Departemental de la Resistance et de la Deportation
"This is an extremely poignant museum dealing with both the resistance and the deportation of Jews from France.
It is pretty hard-hitting, but well put together, with some great artifacts to bring the period alive.
