"Love local galleries and museums which do justice to their area and this one is a beaut.
Set over 3 small and manageable floors I started at the top with the history of Northampton. Good clear displays in a clever setting do a good job of outlining the history of the area. not too much or too littl..."e, well done. Down a floor is a compact display of eclectic items just quirky enough to be different from other galleries. Finally back to the ground floor for a really super collection of shoes and associated stuff. Sounds weird but it really does work ever so well. Difficult to sum up so just go and enjoy. In fact there are many old and interesting buildings around and several good pubs. Northampton was a very pleasant surprise - nice one.

"Rookery open farm is a great place to take your children for a day out, it has everything to keep them occupied , there are plenty of small animals for them to interact with, there is a very large bouncy castle, a large picnic area both inside and outside, if it is wet they have a large play area fo..."r all ages under cover, you can just sit down at the tables and just let the kids get on with what they do best, enjoying themselves , and the price of admission is not a large amount, they do not open through the winter, open times are from 16th March to the end of October, but closed Tuesdays , I would recommend this place anytime you want to take the children out for the day.
