"Takes a few hours there and back but well worth the exercise even though we were in the mid 60s age bracket. You see the gannets up close and get to know how they interact in close quarters."
"We took this boat ride while in port from a cruise ship. The ticket office for Julien Cloutier is right on the main road that goes into town and very easy to find. The man in the ticket booth was helpful and friendly. The price was very reasonable for the wonderful ride that you get and worth the..." fare paid. The narration was given by the captain was very informative and was in both French and English. The boat first takes you for a close up of Perce Rock and then stops at Bonaventure Island for those who want to disembark and see the islands. The length of time was about right. I would recommend this excursion without question. The boat is open making it easy to take pictures and also has an enclosed cabin below.

"We went to Percé at least 25 times since the last 40 years. And each time, we hiked the Bonaventure island trails.
If you want to fully benefit of your stay in Percé, and taking in account the long ride to get there, you should plan to stay at least four to five days.
August is the best period of t..."he year in Percé.
Being there for a few days will let choose the best day to go to Bonaventure island. Be informed of the wind strongest and choose the most calm weather if you are subject to sea sickness.
The "Chemin des colonies" is the best to go across the island and reach the "Fous de Bassan" colony. There, you will be just a few feet away from thousand of them. Go back to the boats pier using the "Chemin du Roy" but ask before if the trail's dryness.
Don't forget to put good shoes that you will be able to wash, Bonaventure island soil being very red. Bring water and a light lunch, hats, sun glasses and binoculars.
