The southern coast of St.Thomas is endowed with the attractive and protected Mangrove Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary & Marine Preserve of exceptional natural resources and is filled with scenic contrasts: manglar islands, rocky cliffs, shallow clear waters with sea grass beds, salt ponds and panoramic ridge lines. These natural areas provide a rich nursery habitat for offshore coral reef fish and invertebrates, and homes to nesting egrets, pelicans, herons and terns.

"My wife and I wanted to try scuba diving before we decided to take the open water class. We found Red Hook Dive Center through their webpage and decided to book the Discover Scuba Class. The day began with the pool instruction at Sugar Bay Resort. There were 8 people including us in the class and we..." all got accustomed to the equipment. After lunch we met at the dive shop for the afternoon dive. Only 6 people showed up for the afternoon dive. The staff at the dive shop were extremely polite and professional. We boarded the dive boat and went to a reef in 40 feet of water. Our group was split into 4 people with one instructor and me and my wife with the other. Mickey was our instructor and she was very helpful, knowledgeable, and polite the entire time. She ensured that we enjoyed the entire experience. I would highly recommend Red Hook Dive Center to anyone! After doing the discover scuba my wife and I are hooked and are going to complete our open water certification.

"Stopped at Coki Beach for a day, and saw the dive shop. They were most helpful to look up our C-Cards as we didn't have them with us so we could rent their equipment and do a beach dive. We got there early in the morning (about 9 or so) and they had some equipment ready to go. They kept our backpack..."s for us in their storage locker for safekeeping as well. We geared up and walked into the water for our dive. Very convenient & easy beach access, helpful staff, decent gear and a nice dive!

"We arrived very early so we were able to see the beach and the views, which are definitely gorgeous with beautiful blue water! We also saw the dive shop, which as divers, couldn't pass up a beach dive. But, upon surfacing near the beach after our dive, we wondered where did the beach go? We saw noth..."ing but a mass of lounge chairs, people and umbrella's which literally covered the entire beach. Everyone was so packed in, about 4 rows deep, with no more than 3 feet between people in all directions. We attempted to find a spot to sit, but had to walk over people to find someplace, then were walked over ourselves by the many hundreds (maybe up closer to 1000?) of folks. We ended up leaving as it was just not enjoyable. This is because there were 5 cruise ships in port, so certainly can't blame the beach! Had I known what I know now, I would definitely go back with no cruise ships in port, and not go back if there are! (which is why I rated it very good because it really would be with far l...
