What travellers are saying
- ImliToronto, Canada36 contributionsIf you are in Santorini and have time, do go. I took the bus from Fira and it was a very pretty ride there and back. The site itself needs about an hour or so. It is Santorini's Pompei. Do watch the video they have. If you have seen many archaeological sites around Greece, it may seem like a repetition. Try to remember how old this is - 4500 hundred years old. 17th century BC. Imagine how advanced that civilization was.
Once finished, walk over to the sign pointing the Red Beach. You have to walk a bit and climb up on the cliff side, then look down to the Red Beach. It is not a beach per se. Very pretty. I believe only boats can get the closest to the beach.Written 8 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was nice to see the other side of the island and all it has to offer.
There is a small parking lot and the lighthouse is just short walk away. There are some rocks to climb around/over so exercise caution when doing so.
We were there in the middle of the day so it was not crowded, although it wasn't empty either. It's a nice place to just stand and take in your surroundings and appreciate what you are seeing. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy nice views.Written 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Definitely take your swim stuff as you will need to cool down once there. Disappointed by the rope on the beach and the poor barriers on the cliff top. A man was playing loud musical instruments too on the top of the cliff which I found a shame if you wanted to enjoy a peaceful beach. Don’t get conned by the man charging to park at the end of the road, you can drive right up to the beach and use the free car park.
Positive note we loved the sea it was warm and easy to walk into as small pebbles and refreshing on a hot day.Written 23 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mairwen1United Kingdom9,563 contributionsWhite Beach is a secluded spot which is difficult to get to and is off the beaten track.
We were able to see it from our boat. Most Santorini cruises take you past this part of the coastline, where you will see White Beach, Red Beach and Black Mountain.
From the water, the sheer white cliffs plunge straight down to the Aegean Sea. It’s beautiful and dramatic. If like us, you don’t have time to visit the beach itself, then I’d recommend doing a cruise that takes in this part of the island.Written 22 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A few fishermen houses are also around.
Unfortunately can be quite windy and there are a couple of plastic bags here and there.
If you are walking down, can be quite tiring to come back up and the road is very dusty.Written 14 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice view to the island and both of the beaches. There is a coffe bar, and a church in it. Free entrance and easy to reach by walk.Written 4 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PepperjackmTexas1,276 contributionsQuieter because have to take motor transport to get there, but if you combine it with other activities it would be a highlight of the island.

- ParagManchester, UK1 contributionWe had an amazing time horse riding! The lady who showed us the way (I forgot her name, oops!) was really nice and made sure we were safe. She took lots of pictures for us too! We did the 1-hour sunset beach walk and it was so much fun! Don't worry, the horses are trained so well, you won't be scared at all. It was a really special experience that I won't forget!Written 4 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
