Yes, there are a ton of foreigners that are surfing but in general, the village is pretty mellow during the week. Everything is close together in terms of great fruit bars, taco..."/pupuseria/stands, tiendas for basics, seafood places and beach bars as well as various hostel/hotels. It is a town that is up and going by 6am with surfers catching the pre-breakfast waves and then pretty much dies down by 7:30pm during the week. I didn't stay over the weekend when the locals come in and spend the weekend partying so I can't comment to that. Bottom line: caters to surfers and more concentration of foreigners than anywhere else I saw in ES but still really mellow and friendly. Easy to use the bus #80 comes by every 15 minutes which stops in from of El Tunco to get to Puerto Libertad during the day to get groceries, watch the fish market and eat nice seafood on their...
