This well planned garden has seen better days, but it is worth the time to stroll the grounds. Amazing trees, and the exhibits are interesting, where there are still signs available. Grounds were tended, and we weren't approached by anyone, even when we took the loop through the jungle on the hill at the end of the gardens.

You can see these gardens were once lovely. However, now they just collect the entrance fee and don't upkeep the place. Also, camera fee of 2000 CFA is out of proportion to the 500 CFA entrance fee and considering state of gardens. I walked around in 20 minutes. There are some old German graves worth a stop at for history...

I visited the gardens in December 2010. Paid CFA 1000 entrance fee plus CFA 500 for my photocamera. I was the only visitor. Unfortunately the garden does not live up to its promise in my Bradt guidebook. Apparently it had gotten a boost in 2008, but in 2010 it had fallen back to a state of disrepair. All the trees...
