Alvor's beaches are stunning and of great length. Surrounding them are flatlands and sweeping sand dunes. Cleverly, a board walk has been built through these with benches and look at posts where you can people-watch, birdwatch and take in the scenery. It's a wonderful way to spend your time in this lovely Portuguese town.

Lovely place to take a nice stroll in the sun. It is something everyone should do when visiting Alvor.

an unexpected bonus to our holiday, walk or cycle, meander around the pathways and enjoy the birds, beetles, plants and atmosphere of completely natural sand dunes before arriving at the perfect beach. Brilliant place to relax and be calm.

we visit Alvor regularly but hadnt been for 3 years and since that time the Boardwalk has been built . What a brilliant idea to walk amongst the conservation area and by the sand dunes. It makes getting to the beach so much more enjoyable.

Great for seniors and families with push chairs and disability scooters etc. Use the boardwalk on a daily basis with access to the beach and cafe services

This is such a lovely place to relax with a beer (or and ice cream) and people watch, boat watch and watch the sunset.

Great place to stroll and view the beautiful surroundings of the area. Brilliant walkway which stretches over the dune and along the beach! Excellent for bird watching and wildlife in general. CN get quite busy so early morning and evenings seem quietest.

Alvor itself is a beautiful, quaint town with a beautiful harbour and you can happily spend hours walking through old town streets and along the harbour front, however if you are considering going on to any beach area at the harbour, think "dog poo" it is absolutely everywhere and if it wasn't for the boardwalk you could not even think...
