We reached the end of the road to Connaught Peak and were the only ones there. It was completely deserted and there were no signs directing us to the peak from there. Therefore we turned around and drove to another point

Connaught peak, one of the highest points in Mahabaleshwar in inland and not on the edge of the Mahabaleshwar hill. The photo displayed by you is incorrect as it shows the needle hole point.
I was advised to go to this point, but once I reached there was surely disappointing. THis palce has nothing but a patch of land covered with some trees, no great view
quite and serene..... very remote.....couples and small groups avoid as you get negative sense of getting into trouble if another large group of men come there........there is a watch tower, but its in a very very very bad shape, can literally collapse any time.....we did climb half way up the tower to get this totally awesome, breathtaking view of the...

Reached there in time to watch the sunset. Beautiful view. Final part of approach road is a little difficult to cover. Poorly maintained.
It offers best panoramic view - Old Mahabaleshwar, Pratap Gadh, Mahabaleshwar, Kate's Point et al, Panchagani, Dhom Lake (& may be more which I could not identify) Way to peak is interesting little "jungle walk". However be careful with steps. I wish they could do better job than this for simple staircase building.
View from Connuaght peak is excellent but this Connaught Peak is bit secluded and difficult to reach when compared with other attractions in Mahabaleshwar. I will not recommend if you are travelling with elders or young kids. There were facilities available at this point.
You get a bird's eye view of Mahabaleshwar from here. There is a motor-able road leading to the point but you have to climb about 50 steps to reach the top, but it's well worth the trouble.
Nice place to see the border of three District. Many more spots are near to this. Nice place and best place to relax at evening
I liked the monsoon especially and the setting of the sun at that place was most enjoyable.I found tat when reach the highest altitude ,the seem to be an Cauliflower.
