Whats not to like about a museum full of old ships and bits of old ships! A great day out, and I have also attended several functions here (weddings etc) which have been greatly enhanced by the facilities.

Really enjoyed the visit to the sub museum which we had ben meaning to do for years! Accessible museum and café, really interesting and informative, as a previous reviewer said, you really do have to be a breed apart to work on a sub, big respect to anyone who does or did this job!

Well worth a visit to see old and newish submarines. And all the armament that goes with them. There is a tour and you can enter a sub. My dad was a submariner and after going in one, you have to be a loony to be a subby. Definitely worth the visit if you are interested in underwater warfare.
excellent (if small) museum. lots to see and do and the HMS Alliance submarine tour is a must. taken around by ex crew member which added to the interest. thoroughly enjoyed it to the max. you can also get there by taking the harbour waterbus which also calls at the Dockyard and priddy's Hard. £12.00 gets you into both the...

Despite the main exhibit being worked on, we still had a very interesting time looking around the exhibition and playing with the hands-on displays - great for kids. The main attraction (the sub) was a great experience that makes you appreciate what the men went through to protect the rest of us. Well worth a visit.
The Submarine museum is fantastic. The layout and exhibits are very interesting and show the historical transformation from the first submarine through to the modern day. Tour of the HMS Alliance is a must it shows the difficult conditions the crew lived in. The guide’s have all served in this class of submarine and their tells of living, sleeping, fighting...

Small but very interesting museum, wait till they have refurbished the submarine and it will be much better.

First rate visit, coupled with a visit to the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth makes it a very full day out with lots to see.
