We drove from Old Faithful to the Lake area of the Park. When we reached the Lake, the views were incredible. The Lake was quiet and peaceful but absolutely magnificent. Yellowstone NP is truly diverse in what it offers. We loved the Lake area of the Park.

We were early for the start of the season. So the store closed at 6pm if staying in the park make sure you have provision as a distance to nearest town. Still parts closed due to snow . The old faithful was fantastic and click click went the camera. The stars at night were lovely. The colours created by nature... More

Parked our coach in the Rocky Mountain RV Park just outside the entrance to the original entrance to Yellowstone. Really nice RV park and very reasonable. We did not to take a chance pulling the 38' Coach through the narrow roads in the park. We did the 60+ mile loop including the Grand Canyon and Old Faithful. Have heard all... More

Maybe one of the most beautiful lakes in the country. Park at the hotel and walk along the trail in front of the hotel and then along the dirt road by the Ranger station. Look out for the bear signs; there's a grizzly hanging around right now.

We had the most wonderful time.We started in South Dakota and drove over the Rockies entering Yellowstone.America is a beautiful country..... Give yourself time to travel slowly and view the animals that share the area. We rented a SUV to sit higher and be able to view the woods etc. Yellowstone Lake is beautiful and the Hotel & restaurant is... More

I was disappointed (but shouldn't have been surprised) to find Yellowstone Lake frozen solid in early May. Some of the access roads were still closed as well, but we found a road next to the ranger station that we could get a closer look. Too bad it was frozen as my dad was looking forward to putting his toes in... More

Ilove Yellowstone. I see something different everytime we visit. We stayed in West Gate not in the park. This time, we saw bears, that was a first. We also saw eagles, nesting. The lake is my favorite spot, beautiful and serene.

Pros : the park is vast, has some wildlife, has some geysers, and is scenic for the most part Cons : you will be lucky to see anything but bison, mountain scenery is better at other national parks, old faithful was anticlimactic at best. Verdict : while yellowstone holds its own charms, there are better parks out there. And if... More

Classic old hotel on the lake with lots of character. The food and service in the dining room is very good. There is a large lounge with a classic quartet in residence almost every evening. It is a trip back in time when you're visiting the park, less crowded, and worth the effort to get there

Prepare to spend a few days there if you want to see everything. It is a one of a kind place. We love staying in the lodges in the park and wandering around looking at the animals and sites. We have spotted many elk, bear and wild buffalo. There are many geysers, mudpots and other geological formations there. Of course... More
