A lovely little beach nice for children safe place to swim very calm, glad they didn't build an hotel here like they intended too. Only a few people there when we went and lots of grass around the beach for family bbqs.

This man made beach and lagoon is great to swim laps in, since there are no waves. Perfect for kids to play without worry about undertow, there is a rock wall enclosing this pretty little beach.

Magic Island was so easy to get to - catch the pink line trolley from waikiki beach area to ala moana shopping centre and it is just across the road about 5mins walk from the shops. The water at Magic Island is so crystal clear - and i loved that there was no one but me and another couple there.... More

My wife and I have been coming to Honolulu for two years, and have found that Magic Island is truly "magic". The other Honolulu and Waikiki beaches are very nice, but usually so very crowded. Magic Island, and extension of Ala Moana Beach is beautiful and offers terrific views, including Diamond Head. The beach is also not usually very crowded.... More

One of the big pluses of living downtown or in suburbs of Honolulu is Ala Moana Park and Magic Island peninsula. Watching canoes, fishermen, Diamond Head and the Waikiki skyline are on the East side; Waves, sunbathers, sunsets to die for on the West Side. Protected swimming cove and a jogging/walking path surround it and are frequented by all types... More

I like that it is a perfect place to walk, watch people fishing and the cove is awesome. The ocean is spectacular!

Magic Island is an amazing beach. I just returned from my trip to Oahu. We stayed at a friend's condo two blocks away from this beach, and it totally made the trip for me. I love to swim and run; every morning, I would go for a run on this beach and swim afterwards. There is a trail that runners... More

It's heavily used by locals, so expect crowds over the weekends. It's a great spot for BBQ and get togethers. There is also a beach that is protected from the waves, so it's a great place to get away from the crowds of waikiki with the family.
