This man made beach and lagoon is great to swim laps in, since there are no waves. Perfect for kids to play without worry about undertow, there is a rock wall enclosing this pretty little beach.

Magic Island was so easy to get to - catch the pink line trolley from waikiki beach area to ala moana shopping centre and it is just across the road about 5mins walk from the shops. One of the big pluses of living downtown or in suburbs of Honolulu is Ala Moana Park and Magic Island peninsula. Magic Island is an amazing beach. I just returned from my trip to Oahu. We stayed at a friend's condo two blocks away from this beach, and it totally made the trip for me. It's heavily used by locals, so expect crowds over the weekends. It's a great spot for BBQ and get togethers. There is also a beach that is protected from the waves, so it's a great place to get away from the crowds of waikiki with the family.
