Very steep hike (.8 mile trail climbs about 500 ft in altitude). Great views from the top. More

Brave those ~400 steps to the top and drink in the sound of the surf and wind! The shave ice truck is waiting at the bottom for you. This hike is fairly quick (about 1 hour roundtrip if you're slow), and quite rewarding with its views. You'll get to see (and crawl through) old wartime battlements on your way to... More

This is a heavily used trail. Be prepared to bring drinking water. There are no facilities once to head up the trail; it can be very hot too. Don't be fooled by the paved walkway as it eventually leads into a mildly rocky walk. There is a small vehicle fee to enter the park. Once you reach the top of... More

1hr 30minute hike to the summit with a great view of Honolulu/Waikiki. You could ride "The Bus" for $2.50 roundtrip to the site. Post card quality photo op More

The view from the top of Diamond head is beautiful! The hike is about a mile. The first part is paved, then a very rocky path ( be careful not to twist your ankle) the last is stairs. I saw people of all physical fitness and age walking up. They offer many benches to take breaks on. More

as long as your health can tolerate a relatively easy and short hike in hawaii humidity, you gotta go. the view of waikiki is amazing from the top. Bring a flash light or head lamp. There is a section of the hike you walk through tunnels that are not lit. Bring water. You will sweat in that hawaii humidity. Need... More

Walk to the top of Diamond Head for great views of Waikiki and the mountain range. Definitely go in the morning when the crowds are smaller and the trail less packed. Wear covered shoes--not sandals. Bring your camera. Parking is available at the trail head. The walk up/down takes about 90 mnutes. More

Drive through a tunnel into the heart of an ancient cinder crater, park, and take a well maintained trail up to an observation deck at the top. This can be a hot effort so plan on tackling it early in the morning. As a 69 year old geezer I found myself resting a lot in shady spots on the way... More

The actual hike is not that tough as it is paved all the way up. They have improved the trail so you can bypass the long stretch of stairs near the top, the spiral staircase, and crawling through a small hole to get to the lookout. There are more spots along the way to enjoy views of both the crater,... More
