I attended the Saturday 8:00 show with a friend, and we enjoyed the show. The show we attended was $15 per ticket, and we called ahead to reserve tickets, then paid cash (or check) at the door. The theater is basic and a bit run-down (especially noticeable in the bathrooms), but architecture and ambiance aren't why you're there. The cast... More

Went to the improv show as something different to do in Newport for our anniversary and had a great time. The performance was very good with the troupe keeping the audience constantly involved and laughing. The theater is small which lends itself to this kind of show and the value is excellent. They provide soda and small snacks for just... More

Went to the Saturday night show at 8 pm. It is a quaint theater. Movie theater chairs and plastic patio chairs. You can BYOB and they offer, soda, tea, coffee and hot chocolate free of charge. There are two bathrooms. The performers were funny and really on their feet with their wit Worth the price of admission, $15.

Maybe they were having an off night...but we were excited about this event (Saturday night late show) and just did not find the comedy amusing. Creative..maybe...but not to our sense of humor.

What a funny show!! My husband and I were in Newport from CT for a weekend to celebrate our 16th anniversary. I researched a few things to do before we went. We found the Firehouse Theater on TripAdvisor and after reading the reviews, I decided it was the perfect place to go! We love a great comedy show and have... More

We went to the Best Comedy Troupe show and found it dissapointing. The skit was more for the younger crowd. I think we were expecting a comedy show not a skit. I would not go back.

We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the show. To be clear for other readers out there: The Bit Players, our house comedy troupe performs an improvisation show much like the hit show "Whose Line is it Anyway". All of the Bits or games are completely improvised, they are not rehearsed like the "skits" or sketches you see on... More

Improv comedy feeds off of the energy and suggestions they get from the audience and, unfortunately, the audience at the encore 10pm show we caught was filled mostly with drunk frat boy types. There were very funny moments because the group is clearly talented, but they didn't have a lot to work with based on the suggestions being thrown out... More

Thank you so much for your review! We appreciate your honesty and we are sorry to hear that you came on a night when the crowd was not at its best. We hope you understand that we have no control over the crowd and that some nights they are spot on with their suggestions and other nights they can be... More
