Area is up and coming but still filled with too many shady people. Can make people uncomfortable during the week when the streets aren't as lively.

The entire Allentown atmosphere is amazing - the restaurants, the shops, the art festivals - both Allentown and the smaller Elmwood are festival. People watching and great food at its best.

Allentown is fun to walk through at night for sure. There are memorable bars, lots of live music, and many interesting people to watch. Everyone in Buffalo is friendly, so you really can't go wrong. A great spot to wander around for an evening.

There is room for improvement on Allen st but the neighborhood as a whole is wonderful. The architecture is amazing. Pass by the weekend for live music at most venues on Allen St.

You cannot beat the Allentown Art Festival. The number of artists selling a multitude of sculptures, photographs, jewelry, etc. is amazing. Prices vary widely as does the type of art. Definitely a fun place to go day or night. During the day there is good shopping and places to eat lunch and at night there are great bars and they are all next to each other so you can easily go somewhere else if you want!
