3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2013 NEW

The downtown was a little disappointing. All the interesting Mom & Pop shops were gone as were the quirkly shops that used to be all over the downtown. Alot of the Indian jewelry shops are also gone. There are lots of places to eat and drink and the shopping seemed to cater to the young college students. Hopefully things will... More

The downtown area is very accessible and quaint. Best selection of good restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the public parking. We never had a long wait and loved people watching as most of the restaurants had outdoor seating. It reminded us of New Orleans meets Virginia City.

Plenty of shopping, dining, etc. combining the old and the new with something for everyone. Nice selection of restaurants and variety of shops. Good mix of national chains and local business.

The railroad ran right through the center of this town. Lots of historical sights and shops. They have tried to conserve the uniqueness of the town which I really liked.

We drove along Route 66 until we found the railroad station. This is still very much a working railroad and had goods trains coming and going approximately every half hour . My husband is a railroad enthusiast and so he was in heaven watching the trains and their very long goods wagons. At one point we counted 100 wagons being... More

This ancient hotel holds fond memories for me as my best friend Bob and I stayed there on our first trip to the Grand Canyon 10 years ago. I wandered into the lobby last week to look around and it was so great to be there again. Looks and feels like early 20th century.

Flagstaff is a really cool town and this part of it is special. I found some great boutiques for costume jewelry that had deep discounts. Lots of fun sidewalk cafes and coffee houses. Beautiful views of the mountains.

We walked through the histric district when arriving at Flagstaff. Quite different to the most villages that we saw during our roadtrip. There are a lot of options when it comes to different dining places. There's something for every taste.

You need to drive through Flagstaff to get to the Grand Canyon, but be sure to stop in the historic downtown area. Lots of locally-owned breweries, wine bars, restaurants, and shops. Free entertainment events in summer. Take the walking tour of downtown to learn about the history of the area.

A very charming, and historic downtown; many historic buildings are well preserved and have markers giving history of the building; nice walking area.
