Architecturally, this building is spectacular. At one time, it was rated as one of the finest concert halls in the world, with extraordinary acoustics. Alas: in the 1970s, the City Fathers --- just to get their grubby hands on some Federal largesse --- ripped out the wooden floor and installed a concrete floor. There went the acoustics! They also installed... More

Good Venue, very accessible, the only bad thing was the restrooms in basement and to many stairs to climb up and down

The hall is beautiful -- the seats are large, comfortable, and far apart. We got a chance to stand on the stage and look out to the seats after Ron's great show -- and it really is a gorgeous place. Springfield is "lucky" to have such a fantastic place, which I think seats 2700 or so people, to see a... More

Went to "bowfire" show last night, the presentation was electric . The violinists and stepdancers had the crowd clapping for more. We enjoyed the show very much. Parking was easy, close and only four dollars. We will go to other shows based on our experience last night.

We were given tickets to the Symphony as a birthday gift, it was a great gift, we had wonderful seats, the acoustics are great and the theatre is beautifully preserved. There was a reception in the Nutmeg Room after and the spread was beautifully prepared and delicious.

Wonderful acoustics and great offerings. I've seen so many great people and shows there. Maya Angelou and Jesus Christ Superstar were particularly memorable.

Went to a show at Symphony Hall recently - The show was great, and our seats were very good. The staff was a bit unorganized though. Everyone gathered on the stairs to Symphony Hall as would be expected. About 30 minutes before the show started one entrance door was opened. There are maybe ten doors at the entrance but only... Even though they have great cultural events, I won't go here again. I have paid good money for shows and then got seats with blocked views. I will go to City Stage or the Bushnel instead.
