I stayed at the Falcon Crest Cabin and will never go back or recommend to anyone. This place was gross and hard to get to. There is nothing to do around it so if you are looking for a clean, smoke free place with access to river this is not the place to rent. I emailed the owners to let... More

My family rented two canoes from SRO in October and did a six mile paddle on the scenic Shenandoah river. It was a great experience and SRO does an excellent job. We saw eagle nests, tons of fish, and even cattle in the water. Beautiful views and awesome fall color. Nice current to help you along and many class one... More

We hired a canoe and took the option of a two hour ride down the river. We loved every minute of it. Beautiful scenery and the rowing wasn't too strenuous so it was very relaxing. Once the course was completed we were picked up by the organisers and taken to our car. Will be doing this again next time I... More

My wife and I went canoeing on the Shenandoah yesterday and had a very nice time. The scenery is beautiful, and we saw two bald eagles as well as numerous herons and dozens of turtles. The only problem came at the end. We were told that there would be a pick-up at the end-point at 2pm and another every hour... More

You could tell these folks have been doing this for over four decades. They offer a variety of trips on the Shenandoah and they "process" you very quickly when you show up for your trip. I compared other outfitters in the area and their rates are competitive. When you think what it would cost you to go to a movie,... More

Every year, several of my friends and family make a weekend summer trip to Shenandoah River Outfitters. We set up camp Friday during the day, enjoy lunch, hike, play horse shoes, swim in the river, and enjoy the out doors. Saturday, we wake up go to the river and canoe throughout the day. Lunch is provided on the river. We... More

Shenandoah River Outfittrs are wonderful. From the phone call explaining my situation (9year old daughter who was "afraid" of sitting in a tube with a hole-having experienced that on the Salt River in Arizona) and presenting us with options(single tubes with bottoms or a raft that seated 6 plus our picnic lunch and fishng gear)SRO were professional and friendly. We... More

The staff is professional, well informed and helpful. Well organized. Plan on being on the river 5 hours if you are tubing. May be a little long for younger children. We would kayak next time so it would go a bit faster.
