We found the visit on the timeline of Santa Fe to be excellent. We spent several hours in the museum! Well done exhibits!

Three exhibitions on view are worthwhile and different. This museum has taken on more contemporary art exhibitions which make for a rewarding experience. Even as a collector of pueblo pottery, this museum is a worthwhile visit with a nice gift shop.
I live close by and so get to visit this lovely museum on a regular basis, but no visit to Santa Fe should exclude a trip to see what exhibits are being offered. It is located in a wonderful historic adobe building with one of the loveliest courtyards in Santa Fe and was built to be the museum in 1917;...

I love this museum. I love just about all art museums but this one, focussed on New Mexico, is special. You just gotta go, I'm telling ya.
Surprisingly offers contemporary as well as traditional southwestern art. A must see directly off the plaza.

This art museum is pretty small and limited as art museums go: No Monets or Renoirs, no ancient Egyptian mummies, no ancient Roman sculptures or Faberge eggs. There were some great works of art by Georgia O'Keeffe. But I have to say I was a little disappointed. Then I ventured upstairs, and was exposed to a new art form: I...

Only the downstairs galleries were open for several good temporary exhibitions. In a historic building, well worth a visit even now. The inner courtyard is pleasant, quiet.
