If you don't see anything else in San Antonio, go see the missions. Love the architecture. Love the history. Love the landscaping. I've been on the Mission Trail so many times I can't even count, but I see it new everytime. Don't miss it.

As others stated, this mission is good to see along with the others on the trail. Each has its own history and charm. Making a day bike ride of it on the rental bikes was a great way to see them all. San Juan is undergoing the most restoration.

During our vacation in San Antonio we decided to visit the Missions along the Mission Trail. As several reviewers have stated, this mission is under construction, and you are unable to go inside the Church. This may be a deterrent for some, until the restoration is complete. For our family, this stop still made for a nice historical stop along... More

I love to visit the whole chain of missions every couple of years. It is amazing to see what was built so long ago.

It was okay. Has a nature trail which the others don't have. You can also go to see the aqueduct on the way to the 3rd (San Juan) and 4th (Espada) missions.

what i failed to say in my other review is that this is accessible by car off of I-10 getting off at Roosevelt. Signage tells you where to get off. You can also access it on bus #42 Roosevelt tell driver you are going to the Mission trail.

San Juan is the southernmost mission on The Mission Trail. Unfortunatley it is undergoing extensive restoration that looks like it will last a couple of years. The main building is surrounded by construction fencing so you can't even go inside. Behind the mission is a grist mill powered by the amazing aqueduct system connecting the missions, but alas, it too... More

They are remodeling it. Looks like it's a multi year project. The outside looks completely remodeled, doesn't look even like it was built in the 1700's. Can't even go inside the church right now due to it's remodel. People live in the surrounding buildings around the church so you can't even explore inside those. Streets are blocked off so I... More

It looked as though there was some renovations about to take place...or in the process of taking place. This was the last of the 4 Missions that I stopped at but it was so hot and humid, I didn't get out of the car to walk around.

Good history. Is undergoing extensive renovations so there were some things we did not get to see (but all for the eventual benefit of all to see). There was a nice, short walking path behind the Mission that was enjoyable to stroll on. Some interesting wildlife and plants to see on the path.
