For a nice stroll on a summer day in a town full of American history, enjoy a walk along the Providence River. Rcommended during the day. At night a few times a summer enjoy Werfire with classical music.

since my office is close to the river, I spend a lot of time strolling along the waterside walkways during my lunch hours. It's a great way to not only get a bit of exercise in but also get a feel for the city.
The layout makes it very pedestrian friendly, especially on the east side, and there's plenty of...

Visiting Waterfire on the Providence river is a treat. There are numerous venders selling food, beverage and souveneers. My one complaint is that there are not enough places for seniors to sit without having to get a table at a restaurant. Otherwise a great place an evening.
providence went through a bit of a revamping its old and was never taken care of till a change in politics. not that it mattered much the river was known for dumping stuff.like trash cars body's and animals.after providence had its make over.locals noticed it was a sham the river is pretty after dark.nice concept.but poorly done.now as far as...

I feel like Providence could do a lot for this area when it is not Waterfire. Is is central to everything and could be a really nice place to walk and play- I just don't feel like it is there yet, and the water is pretty dirty!
Although it is nothing compared to the Charles in Boston or the Hudson in New York CIty. it still has a charm of its own. It is a great place to relax. Just beware of hecklers who keep bothering u asking for spare change. It's a good thing to be generous, but not a nice way to be bothered on...
