This is about a 5 mile round trip hike, the fist mile and a half is quite easy and the last mile was a bit steeper. For the uphill journey we had streams running down the trail and some snow in the trail making it tricky. This hike goes through the Fern Valley burn area and I couldn't help but... More

This trail is 2.3 miles one way. It's fairly easy with little elevation gain (~500ft). It goes through the area burned out by the fire of 2012. We went in early May and a few spots of the trail were still covered in snow, but it was packed down and well traveled so no problems. Rather than turn around and... More

We hiked this trail and truly enjoyed the beauty. The hike to the Lake took around 4 hours round trip... some of the hike was in snow and again, beautiful. Not a difficult hike...moderate (plus), especially due to the altitude difference from our home on the east coast. So, we did stop some for this reason, giving it the (plus):)... More

We older folks (67 and 75) snowshoed about 2.5 miles total in and out on the trail. It was a perfect Colorado winter-spring day and we saw an eagle spiraling above and 5 elk right in front of us as we went around a bend in the trail. What a treat! Go there for peace and gorgeous sights.

One of the easier hikes in the park, and one of the most popular. But do keep children in sight at all times!

DO this hike in a circle. Begin at the Fern Lake traihead and follow it around the mountain to Cub Lake and then to the Cub Lake trailhead. The trailheads are less than a mile apart, and it makes for a great circular hike! Beautiful! (at least before the fire...I haven't seen it since!)

This is an OK trail my favorite parts were along the fern lake trail and the pool portions of the loop. One of the few loop trails on the east side so that was nice no need to double back. Not much elevation change so a moderate hike at best. Suitable for anyoen of average fitness and good choice for... More

This was the end of what turned out to be a rather long, tireing hike. Started out going to the Pool & up to Fern Falls we then finished by going back by way of Cub Lake. The climb to Fern Falls about did me in (I'm not in the best of shape and the elevation didn't help) but I... More

What is not to like about Rocky Mountain Park? And this trail is a thing of beauty, lakes, and a waterfall. Keep going up and more waterfalls. Birds will take chips right out of your hand!

Only did this hike because the park was closed for fire... So glad we had the chance to discover it - close to get to - lovely lake at the top perfect for a picnic. Locals seem to use it for daily excercise - the lucky ducks - but this tourist really enjoyed despite heavy foot traffic.
